Paul L. Anderson II (PLA2) is a native North Carolinian and graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke and the University of Missouri - Columbia. He is an accomplished and sought-after conductor, speaker, presenter, and teacher, leading clinics, workshops, and presentations in scholastic, sacred, and corporate settings.
As a musician, he has performed as an ensemble member, soloist, and conductor in several states and abroad. His passion, however, is reaching and teaching. A career educator, Paul has mentored young people from grade school to college. Equipped with adaptability, enthusiasm, and a keen sense of empathy and understanding, he hopes to reach the world with a message of positivity and excellence.Â
Mr. Anderson is the founding artistic director of the Deep River Singers. With a vision to honor the rich history of the Spirituals, Paul established the ensemble to spread messages of humanity, community, faith, comfort, and encouragement through music. The group has performed in concert and invited performances throughout North Carolina.
Paul holds degrees in Music Education and Choral conducting and is pursuing his PhD at the University of Missouri while working as a graduate teaching assistant. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and the American Choral Directors Association.
